I was contacted by telephone and led to believe the university I am attending had submitted my name. I was told that I was to answer some questions and the responses would be submitted to their board of directors to determine eligibility. Ther Person on the phone said I would be given a 5 year membership for $589 and would receive a copy of the book which would list me and my expertise.
Like a dummy I fell for it. Gave them CC information and when I finally received the package, they had changed the wording I had used and gave a false impression of my expertise and business experience. I called the phone number listed but was after hours.
A P.S. At the bottom of the accompanying letter, "Your second and final payment of 199.00 USD will be automatically billed on August 18." There was no mention of any other payment at the time of the phone call.
It is strange that their business hours are 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday through Friday, but they are able to bill a credit card on Saturday. On the "invoice" there are, in bold, these words "All program sales are final. No refunds will be issued for our service and all accompanying personalized products." This was not mentioned during the phone call either.
The letter was signed by Meredith Foster, the Certificate was signed by Mitchel S. Robbins, Chairman/CEO, Cambridge Who's Who. I hope these two people (at least) are never able to sleep comfortably again, knowing how their sales department operates.
After reading all of the other scam reports, I am not going to try to contact my credit card company. I just hope some lawyer will start a class action or some government representative will see all of these and begin a major investigation into this multi-named company.
I am going to keep this and write in big red letters "sucker".
