I noticed 1.00 charges on my last two monthly credit card statements and immediately tried to call the company many times and was put on hold for two minutes each time, until there either was a busy signal or a dial tone.
I could not cancel my membership, as the mesage prompt offered since I did not have a membership number. I searched the internet and found many other perople complaining also. I tried to contact the company on their website but my online messages were bounced back and was given the message to call. Each call told me to contact them online and each online message told me to call. This was obviously a company that didn't want to be reached. I contacted my credit card company about other unaurthoried charges and the card account was shut down, and I was issue a new one. I was sent a questionaire and affidavid to sign about these charges on my old crdeit card number. I thought it was over when I recieved my new statement with two new charges from this company. I called my credit card company yesterday and explained the whole scenerio. I told them, this is unauthorized, but the woman said that sometimes there are offers that you have to uncheck when you order from some websites and that I probably didn't notice. I told her that this was a scam and a legitimate compnay would have sent a confirmation, welcome letter or information in the mail. Take the charges off. If you don't pay it, then whoever they are will contact them.
I contacted the Ill State General Attorney's off ice and filed a complaint. Since I found an address for them on another site.
Next, I sent another letter yesterday to [email protected] telling them that I am not a member and that I contacted their states Attorney office about this matter, I received an automated response so far. This is where I stand. What else can I do?
