On May 13. My mastercard account was billed $10 by smartemarket (perhaps there is something to their name?! As they don't even need you to go to their site to bill you for goods you never receive or want anyway.) I had never even heard of them. On that same day the only transaction that I had done was to renew a domain name that I've had for a few years.
My question is this: How did they get my name and access to my card info? I am extremely careful about anything I do online and I never save data or have any passwords remembered for me. Secondly, what can any of us do to shut these parasitic entities down, or prosecute them for their ripoff dealings $10 is neither here or there but it's the principle of the thing, and what and for how much the next time?
