Sides With The Company, Does Not Help The Consumer At All ripoff

My situation is as follows:
I went through three Microsoft Xbox 360's in a six month period. All three systems had defects and after the third one only lasted for three days I decided that I was finished. I had contacted Microsoft about each system as it happened. I had put out roughly $1200 in the system, games and accessories. I discussed the situation with the store where I purchased everything and they agreed to give me the purchase price of the system back. They said I could get "Trade In Credit" for my games and accessories.

I shopped around to ensure that I was getting the highest amount of money that I could and went through with selling everything back to this store. After this I contacted Microsoft and told them that I felt since they put out a system that they know is defective they should refund at least part of the money that I wasn't able to recoup. The difference was only about $400, that's all I was asking for. Microsoft gave me the usual run around about how they don't refund retail purchases.

This is where the BBB comes in. I filed a complaint with them thinking maybe they could help. Little did I know that since Microsoft is a paying member I was going to get the shaft. They sent information to Microsoft and the idiots that work for Microsoft couldn't even read the complaint thoroughly. They called me and asked me if I wanted to send them the system. I explained that I no longer had the system and what is was that I wanted.

Once again I was told that they couldn't help me because they don't give refunds on retail purchases. I told them it was their fault for putting out a sub-standard product and I was once again told the same thing. Microsoft sent their correspondence back to the BBB saying that they had done everything in their power to rectify the situation. The BBB asked me if I was satisfied and I said "NO". So they closed the complaint saying that I couldn't be satisfied.

I want to know how telling someone that you don't offer a refund on retail purchases is any kind of conflict resolution. And I also want to know why the BBB said that I couldn't be satisfied... It was Microsoft who did not offer any real resolution! Currently I've filed a complaint with the Attorney General's Office in Maryland and Washington. Maybe I can get somewhere by going this route.
