Earlier tonight (6/29), I was visited by a male, likely in his late teens (and smelling of booze) and sold me "magazine subscriptions" for different magazines. He told me that he was doing it for a "trip to Cancun and he only needed 1300 points to win the contest".
Being a sucker, I paid for 4 magazine subscriptions. We then went to the bank and I ponied up $320 for it. I gave him the money, and then dropped him off. Within a matter of 90 seconds, he wasn't on the corner, and started to drive away in an unmarked green and blue striped box van.
Upon going to Yahoo and searching for the company he worked for, I fell upon this site and got ticked off. Royally. I just mailed back one of the yellow slips to this company, and I'm hoping that I can get a refund. Check back later for an update to see if I did (slim to nil chance) or got scammed.
