I advertised a motorcycle for sale over the internet and was contacted by Chris Bommel who wished to purchase it. After exchanging e-mails and agreeing to a price, I was told I would receive a cashiers check for the amount of the motorcycle and was asked to let him (Chris) know when the check arrived and he would arrange shipment. Upon receiving the check, it was 1700.00 more than the agreed upon price and when I emailed Chris about the overage he said that I needed to western union the 1700.00 to his shipper. I told him that the bank placed a hold on the check and it would be several days before it cleared, he was constantly calling to get me to go ahead and western union the 1700.00 to shipper so that the motorcycle could "make the boat" before the end of the waiting period on the check. Needless to say the cashiere's check was counterfeit and the "shipper's" address was the same as Chris Bommel. If I had sent the shipping fee (1700.00) from my own account while waiting on the check to clear, I would be out the 1700.00 and the check would have proved to be counterfeit. When I spoke with him on the phone to let him know that the check was phony, he said that his secretary, Perry Kogan had sent the counterfeit check. When I searched the internet for his name, I found information where this same tatic was used on others. Please beware and check a person out before sending any money!!!
