Ripoff Fraudulant Toner scam. Calls and asks operator to "Confirm" non-existant orde

West Coast Distribution called and talked to an operator (6/11/07) to "confirm" a toner order. Smooth talking lady persuaded the operator that there was a toner order that needed to be confirmed or it could not be sent out. No such order had been made, but the operator, ignorant of this fact, faxed the "order confirmation" that they had sent back to them.

We have a strict PO number policy and when I found this "confirmation" in my box I began to investigate the issue. The toner they quoted was at least four times the cost of equivalent elswhere, we do not even own the machine they quoted and the toner we do use is supplied under contract.

The "confirmation" had the company IDCSERVCO as the biller and shipper. I sent a fax (6/11/07) to the fax number quoted cancelling the "order" with a copy and a complaint to the local FBI office. I told them in the fax that if they shipped the toner it would be refused and if they billed us we would take legal action, including a criminal complaint.

I checked the internet and found several scam alerts on IDCSERVCO under various seller names. I put in a complaint with the BBB.

I found a telephone number for IDCSERVCO on the web and called their service dept. (6/12/07) I was surprised that they answered. I talked to "Alice" and she agreed to watch for this order and cancel it and asked me to send a copy of the "confirmation" with "cancelled" written on it and she would cancel it.

I mentioned that neither "West Coast Distribution" nor "IDCSERVCO" have phone numbers obtainable through directory service, that neither company appears to exist at the addresses given (Huntington Beach and Culver City, Ca), and that this appears to be a scam. She assured me that IDCSERVCO had been in business for 30 years and was REALLY named G&M Financial. "We have nothing to hide" was her quote.?? One of those duuuh moments.

I suggested that, if they were a legitimate company, they should review they people they are billing for, otherwise they might find themselves in a class action lawsuit as a conspirator with the sellers.
