A letter was sent to me by Winston Financial Management notifying me that I had won money and a trip. A check fo $3,715.25 was enclosed, the check looks genuine. However, I know that when something appears too good to be true, it normally is and I began checking.
The envelope had a Canadian stamp on it, the number the letter asked me to call had a Canadian area code but the company address on the letter said Albany, New York. The letter read as if it had been written by someone for whom English was a second language. When I went to the internet and "googled" the name of the company, the ripoff website came up and described the exact scam that was sent to me.
I have not been harmed in any way but felt that people should know that these people are still out there taking advantage of others.
