Be aware of a company who does business on the internet as "Ever Private Card" and also "Private Date Finder, LLC" and 3 or 4 variations thereof. This company deals in prepaid debit cards which they purported issue after one forks over a one-time $49.95 fee.
The only problem is that they seem to charge this fee even if you do not sign up with them! We noticed the charge on our bank statement and I searched on the internet to find out about the outfit that charged us the money. No one in our house had ever heard of, or even visited this company's website, much less ordered this card.
This money was stolen! I contacted our bank immediately and sign an affadavit that I (we) had never ordered or authorized this draft, and they promised to issue provisional credit until their investigation was completed.in the meantime, a search on the internet yielded dozens, perhaps hundreds of complaints regarding this company.
You can go on their website and apply for a refund of the fee, but I also took the opportunity to file a complaint with the California Department of Consumer Affairs and the Better Business Bureau. Be aware that the CA BBB turns up many reports on several different company names/variations using EverPrivateCard's phone number/address. One of these is the "Private Date Finder, LLC". When I do a search for "Ever Private Card" on the BBB website, I find multiple entries, and selecting on, am directed to this company.
