I applied for goverment grants a few months ago. Laura Brian called my cell phone today around 5:00 PM and told me my grant was awarded to me and in order to recieve it I needed to give her a one time fee of $299.00. She stated this was to cover all paper work that Nationwide Cunsulting had done for my proposal. Then she satated that after my fee was collected I recieve my grant and a proposal for more depending on need. She told me the grant was for personal debt, starting a business, home renovation and so forth. I was completelyty excited but leery.
I made her call back in a few minutes and talk to my husband. After she called back, my husband asked for forms emailed or mailed to prove the company was real. She stated that she was unable to do so until the fee was paid and would wait until Friday for payment. Then she asked my husband for his drivers liscense number to confirm his identity. He gave it to her and then she proceeded to ask for a bank account number and a social security number.
My husband told her he was not giving that info until he was able to research the company. Hse continued to attempt to assure him that it was a federal government agency accredited by the Better Business Burea and was not going to ruin their reputation for $299.00. My husband then told her he was not giving any info until he further researched the company and she then hung up on him. When we tried to call back the number that appeared on my cell phone which is 646-416-6894, the phone was busy.
I called back hours later and there was no answer, not even a machine. I called the 888 number they provided and there was a voicemail box. I do nopt want someone to get stuck like I almost did.
