I was going over my bank statement today and noticed a charge for 74.95 from Leanrx. When calling their 800 number they just want me to put my CC number in and offer no other assistance. If you do not put your CC number in they direct to an email address which is not valid.
I called the bank to find out more info as I didnt order anything from this company. My bank couldnt really help other than cancel my debit card, issue a new one and let me dispute the charge for a refund. Still doesnt leave a warm and fuzzy so I asked them why my money isnt safe or why they wont help me ensure my money is safe in their bank.
I am going to continue contacting this bank to try and drive a policy change on all debit cards where you have no option to use it as a credit card but instead have to use a pin number always to charge the card.
After researching this issue I see that this company has also been changing their name and found a charge from 12 under a company name of Dreamsmile for 14.95..
By the way when I did call back and enter my CC number to see what would happen and they said my card would be credited but instead I got another charge this time for 69.95 and within minutes of me calling the 800 number. SO one more to dispute with the bank... Surely someone can help us shut this down.
