I just closed my Bank of America credit card because of the fraud charge on it. They are sending out new cards today.
I can not understand how this happened. I use anti-virus, I use Windows Defender, I have all the Windows XP updates. I never respond to the phishing e-mails for Bank of America or any others.
The only way I can think this happened is I used the card in Cosamel Mexico in a small store right on the port for the cruise ship liner Carnival. Maybe this Mexican merchant sold the card info to this scammer.
I hope you can shut this scam down and credit all the people like myself that felt pray. If anyone know how this happened, please reply to this thread.

If the charge was to your credit card (not debit card, check card, or checking account), contact the credit card company as soon as possible to request a dispute form. Consumers usually have a little longer to dispute fraudulent credit card charges (up to 6 months), but it is better to act right away.in this type of situation, credit card disputes are usually successful since fraudulent companies often won't contest the disputed charge.in rare cases, credit card companies will review disputes, but refuse to reverse the charges. If this occurs, complain to a manager and let them know you will be filing a report here.
Remember Don't let them get away with it! Make sure they make the consumer complaints. The more Reports filed on a Company or individual, the more likely it is that the authorities, media and attorneys will want to take action.
