Bill Kay Chevrolet
No time to waste time

Bill Kay in Lisle Illinois.
Made arrangements on Saturday December 30 to trade in Audi TT and buy a Red 2007 Z06. Agreed on $77,730 for a price on the Z06. Bill Kays Special price is $5,000 over sticker. Explained traveling over 2 hours one way and was pressed for time. Car was to be prepped for delivery, a test drive and the paperwork.

Left my home a 6am and arrived back at 2pm.

Car was in a the showroom with a sign not to touch it, a museum piece. Finger prints every where on the car. Hardly a prepped $77,730 car. They explained how honest they were because in Florida they were charging a $15,000 premium.

They offered $10,000 less than my payoff on the Audi TT. There was $4,300 difference on the Kelly Book value they provided and my payoff.in other words $11,000 offer at my expense. Countered $6300 offer at my expense, Bill Kay answered NO. Walked away.

How fortunate I did not drive the car I may have bought it at that crazy price. Felt really bad I bought a NEW 2005 Vette in 9 from Bill Kay. Felt bad I spent one dollar to buy a soft drink. No they did not provide me a beverage. Felt absolutely stupid wasting 8 hours and trusting Bill Kay's word.

Bill Kay has 3 Z06 and over 20 other new Vettes. Apparently they are collecting them rather than selling them at reasonable prices. I am very proud to say they can keep them.

I was approved to buy the car with a $1220 lease payment. So I am not a tire kicker.

Have a question for all the owners of Chevy dealerships.

Would you like to be treated like this?

Do you think we want to buy any Chevy products after experiences like this?

Thought Corvettes are suppose to generate traffic in Chevy dealerships and positive good will, why are they charging premiums for product? Do you think we will consider other Chevy products after we see your Greed?

Do you know how to sell a $70,000 vehicle?

I can get better service, and attention to detail buying a $20,000 car, with a good discount. Test drive, paper work, and a beverage and out the door in about an hour.

I bought 3 new cars in 2006. Have owned 6 new Porsches, 2 new Corvettes and a Ferrari. Keep my sport cars for a 12 to 16 months and then move on to something else. Not the plan but I'm a sport car addict. Dealers would you like me for a customer?

GM, statement for you.

Selling Corvettes like this will not save GM.

Dealer network that sells your Premium Corvette sucks!

You got this terrific product that even Europe is praising. It is being marketed terribly and dealers are acting extremely greedy, and dishonest. Ferrari and Porsche have stopped dealer greed quite effectively. It is not perfect but for the most part they punish dealers that practice greed.

You have Saturn dealers that are doing this and it suppose to be one price shopping.

Good thing GM is so healthy:)

In closing I hope the third try to buy a Z06 will be a charm. Putting my trust in Les Stanford Chevy and Rick Daniel. Hearing good things about them. Hope they are true. If not I'm out. Will buy at a fair price. MSRP includes dealer profit. There are plenty of other good products on the market, and being a proud American I would like to help GM, but they have to meet me half way.

Sorry about the rage.

PS to anyone at Bill Kay questioning my tale. Have the email trail from beginning to end. So lets not go there.

Thanks for nothing. Below is my bill.
8 emails on Friday and 8 hours of wasted time on Saturday. Few more minutes to tell my tale.
