Sold Me A Vehicle with Flood Damage ripoff

I first went to this dealership to purchase a vehicle that would accomadate my wheelchair and lift I was sold a very nice Chevrolet Trailblazer in which the salesman stated it would take any wheelchair and lift I would need to put on it. I soon found out it would not. So a swap in equity was made and I had but one choice of vehicle that was a Dodge Ram 1500 quad cab.

I took delivery of it and within a week I started hearing all kinds of noise in the rear of the truck and brought it to the attention of the second salesman as the 1st one was no longer an employee with the dealership. I drove the vehicle back down to them and two rear tires were replaced, at the time of delivery I failed to notice the vehicle had three different types of tires on it. The tires made a little difference but the noise did not go away so I took the vehicle to my regular mechanic and found that the rear end housing was full of water mixed with the oil.

I made the salesman, the service manager and the one mechanic the dealership had aware of the problem and was told by there mechanic that he really did not know what else to do but to take the vehicle to a Dodge dealer as it had some warranty on the drivetrain left and I had also purchased an extended warranty so that is what I did. The Dodge dealer told me it would not be covered under warranty as it was water (Flood) damage I got the same reponse from the extended warranty.

Now knowing the vehicle had water damage I started looking closer at the interior of the truck and found signs of water behind the door panels under the dash under the seats and in the heating/AC ductwork. The vehicle had clearly been water damaged and also had a musty smell that would not go away.

I again told the salesman and service manager of what I had found and spent quite a bit of money to correct some of the more important items damaged. The dealership claims I never told them about all of this and lied about it in a response I had filed with the BBB, they have refused to talk to me or to try to help with any repair or compensation for what I had to spend on a flooded vehicle they sold me.

I have now had no other choice but to get out of that truck and into another one that is not water damaged. I do not feel I should have been left holding the bag alone on this deal the least they could have done is to have helped with some of the repairs instead I have been lied to and insulted, I will not let this just fall by the wayside and if necessary I will file a law suit for damages in wich I may or may not win but I will have some peace of mind as it will cost them to defend themselves that will not be as cheap as just settling with me for about $2,500.00 which I feel is very amicable for all concerned as if I do file with the Court I will ask for all the monies I put into the vehicle well over $5000.00
