On the night of October 19th at about 9pm I picked up my friend Ashley Grockhoci to get something to eat and come over to watch a movie because she didn't feel good. When we arrive back somewhere between 910-930 there were no parking spots in the 3 parking lots near my house. So as I do any other night I parked in visitor and I move it later. This has never been a problem in the past nor does it state you can't do that in the lease.
Since my class was canceled on Friday the 20th of October I slept in and woke up ate and was going to check the mail and move my car (which there were plenty of visitor parking spots than). By the time my girlfriend went to work she noticed they were towing my car the Oldsmobile Alero.
I ran outside to see why they were towing it and to find out the more information. I simply wanted who was towing and the number to were I could get the car from. Also the security guy Jason Miller flashed his badge and was like do you know who I am and I said no. I asked for his name and he stated he didn't have to give me his information.
So, I got into the car grabbed a piece of paper and my money that was sitting in the cup holder and asked again for his name and badge number again he wouldn't give it to me and finally he gave me his name Jason Miller and he still didn't give me his badge number.
So, after getting that I asked for the towing company information and he referred me to the side of the truck which I wrote down the information. He than called the cops saying I was in his face and interfering. When in fact Jade * was a witness to the whole thing and I wasn't in his face I was wanting to know were my car was going and how to get it back. I was not in his face I was wanting his information because he was taking my car and I wanted to know why because I had a sticker. The cops arrive and the cop talked to them than talked to me and she said she wasn't taking sides and that it's a civil matter and it sounds as though the front office made a mistake and we should take it up with them. The cop leaves and the car gets towed.
We than proceeded to the front office which has a sign saying they will return at 10am and to call a certain number if need anything. Its 130pm and no one is there. There is another individual who is waiting as well to talk to someone because his car got towed. We finally went to the tow company Macomb Auto Body picked up the car which costs $150 and went to the other Turnberry Office to speak to someone.
When we got in the office I had my lease and the handouts we get on a weekly basis and was simply asking why they towed my car and that there were no parking spots so I always park there and move my car later. She wouldn't let me have a word in edge wise nor would she look at my lease or handouts to tell me were it states I can't park there.
She than called the security towing guy who came in and said he was here all night last night and there were spots but when I pulled in I didn't see him and there were no spots. If he was here all night why didn't they tow it than? Why did they wait until 120pm the next day to tow it if he was there all night.
I again asked why they towed it and were in the parking rules does it state you can't park there and she asked me to leave and If I didn't she would call the cops. So, I left and went back to my apartment to figure were to go next.
