Explain Your Complaint Fully: I recieved a letter in the mail stating that i could get a vacation package. Along with the offer was a coupon for 1600 toward my vacation. The letter said that i had to call within 72 hours of recieving the letter or i wouldnt be able to redeem it. I called and spoke with a man named ken. Ken explained to me all the great things that come with the package. I told him i just wanted to know how it was they got my address and did i win a contest or something. He said he couldnt answer that question. After he explained all the good things about the vacation he told me that i would have to put down a deposit of 600$ to ensure that i would go. I told him i was a college student and coulnd afford it. He then told me to hold on so he could get his managaer to so they could make me a "deal".

The manager paul came and asked me which type of credit card or debit card do i have. I told him i had both. Paul said that he could run my credit card and see how much money i have available and then he could work out another price for me. He asked for my credit card number and the security number on the back. I told him i didnt want my card charged and he said it wouldnt. He came back 2mins later and said i have 173$ available and that he could gibe me that price. I was still trying to decide if i wanted the vacation package and he put ken back on the phone and then ken transfferd me to the billing person. When the billing lady (her name was cassie) came on the phone she went through all the rules and after she was done i told her that i changed my mind and didnt want the package. She said that she couldnt cancel it and that i had to talk to her manager.

She put paul back on the phone and he ask me what was the problem. I told him that i am a college student and i just wanted to talk things over with my mom fist because everything was happening so fast and i just need to ask her first. Paul then said that i had to make the decision now because once i hung up the offer wouldnt be available. Paul then started adding more things to the package and then lowered the price to 86.00. I told him that i just didnt want to make the decision on my own and he said that the worse that could happen was that i would pay the 86.00 they would send me a video about the vacation. If i decided not to go on the vacation i would just be out of 86.00. This sounded okay to me so i went ahead and paid. After i hung up i felt like i made a bad decision and went to the internet to do some research. I came across a website (usacomplaints.com) with so many complaints against the company and people saying they had been ripped off. I tried to call back but the line was busy. I called back the following day and asked to speak with paul. He did didnt want to get on the phone and told the man i was talking to, to give me the coustomer sevice number and speak with them. I called and they were closed. I called back again and a lady with a very bad attitude answered and i asked her could i speak with paul she said she didnt know a paul and she needed my conformation number— i didnt have that with me and she said she couldnt help me and i needed to call back and speak with a managar i asked her what was the managers name and she said she didnt know and she hung up.

I called back again and the first guy that gave me the customer service number answered and i told him that i needed to speak with a manager today. Finally a project manager named scott got on the phone and i explained my situation to him and asked him was there a 3 day cancellation period. He wouldnt give me a solid yes or no. He said he couldnt say yes because i was using the word cancel and in legal terms that means refund. I didnt ask for my money back because they had me on tape authorizing the charge (which he repeatedly reminded me of). I just told him that i didnt want to go on the cruise anymore and i had found a website that told me horrible things about their program. He said that he was fully aware of this website and that it could of been 1 person bad mouthing them and that he could give a million people saying they had a great time.

Basically what he ended up telling me is that no i couldnt cancel the trip but i could just let the offer and expire and i would have to pay the remaining balance of the 600$ or any other fees. I told him i just didnt want any problems and he gave me his number and told me if i had anymore problems just call him directly. Hopefully this will all work out and i dont have any problem with this company. Anyway thanks to all the people who put their experiences on here.
