In November I began doing some mystery shopping on the side to earn some extra money. I have been a pastor since 1981, and in 2003 I began a new church. To supplement my income and to find jobs that I could fit around my schedule, I started doing mystery shopping for different companies.
All the companies I have worked for have been good experiences, some of which may be better than others in terms of payment. Only one company has been a nightmare, and I want to forewarn all mystery shoppers to avoid DAIB Retail Solutions like the plague. They do not pay their independent contractors, which I found out the hard way. I will never work for them again.
Shadow Shopper has banned DAIB from their web site and will no longer post any jobs from them. I have lost count the number of times I have tried to contact DAIB to pay me the $65.49 they owe me. My story can be repeated numerous times over from what I have heard from other disgruntled independent contractors, whose back pay goes to the summer of 2005.
I have kept all email communications I have sent, and I still have all emails from Michael Primus at DAIB who promised me many times in the past that "the check is in the mail." We have been advised to contact the Department of Labor, and Shadow Shopper said we might want to consider legal recourse.
Don't let the rotten apple of DAIB keep anyone from considering doing mystery shopping, though.
