After about two weeks of getting two to three calls a day from this number (001819) on my cellphone I decided to call my cell phone company Alltel to see what this was and what could be done about it. Alltel told me they couldn't research it unless
I filed a police report for harrassment. The Alltel rep. Said it was usually a person trying to sell something or get information and these companies pay to have a seperate number to omit their number and have a number that can not be called back. I was advised to not answer the phone and let it go into voicemail. If I answer the call, it will charge me on my cell phone bill or otherwords go against my monthly minutes. Anyhow, after not getting anywhere with Alltel, I looked up on the internet the 001819 and found several rip off sites and found this 800 number and called it. The guy Wilfred Angles said he couldn't look up my account with out my first and last name. So I told him my name and asked him to put me on his do not call list. He said that he would let his management know. I explained that I was filling out a police report on the harrassing calls and that if his managment did not stop calling my cell phone number that I would hire an attorney and persue this. He then asked me for my number again and my mailing address. I said, so do you want my dob, my ss#, all my credit card numbers, my bank account information too??? He didn't say anything, I told him, "look, my name is so and so and my number is so and so, do whatever you need to do to make sure your company and it's affiliates does not contact me again by putting my number on your do not call list. HE HUNG UP ON ME!!! When trying to call back, I got a busy signal. Is anyone else having this problem and can anyone help??? I'm stuck in my Alltel contract until July or I'd change cell phone carriers even though I've been with them for several years. This is ridiculous that Alltel refuses to do research without a police report. I've had two cell phones with two different numbers with them for years and have never been late on my cellphone bill, but yet they can not help me. I'm frustrated!
