Ripoff fraudulent advertising dishonest misrepresentation of product bad customer service disreputable dealings

We were completely mislead by Closet World & their sales rep. The sample the sales rep provided did not in any way match what arrived at our home. The price of the closet, down payment, and discounts were misrepresented as well.

The closet was to be installed on 1/27, but we received a call the evening of 1/26 that the installer was cancelling and would need to reschedule to another more convenient date. The reason we were given was that they had scheduled someone else on the same day as us and the other people didn't want to wait. We were told that if we needed to reschedule, they required no less than 4 days notice, or this was a violation of their contract. One of us had already made arrangements to stay home that day, (having used vacation time from work), but they didn't care. After much insistence on our part, they agreed to come on 1/28. After speaking with their installation dept, we later found that the installer was in breach of the contract with Closet World, and was not permitted to call and cancel the job, or reschedule it as he did.

The closet was brought into our home, from the back of a beat up van, with no protective covering or padding over it. It was covered with a greyish dirt film, had a multitude of scratches, chips, bubbled areas where the laminate had not been attached properly, had green paint smears on it, and also what appeared to be dried blood. Upon our inspection, we told the installer to take it back to their warehouse, as it was in an unacceptable condition. We asked if something had happened to it, to cause such a terrible condition, and were told by the installer that that is the way it normally arrives at customers homes, damaged and poorly constructed as it was that day.

We carefully marked the items with blue painters tape so someone could see those damaged areas. We were not able to speak with anyone there in customer service, no one works in customer service on the weekend, and the sales rep. That sold us the closet was unwilling to come to our home and look at the damaged goods, (even though she lives nearby), nor did she do anything to help with this problem.

After numerous calls, emails, etc... And being passed around to one person after another, reiterating our story over and over again, we are no further along with the refund of our money, and have no closet. We were even told by one of the companies district managers that he would contact a lawyer and sue Closet World if he were us.

Closet World is unwilling to work with us, and don't seem to care about their product or that it is crap.

I have sent several emails to the Company's President, other company Vice-Presidents, and company managers, with photos of the damaged goods, with no reply so far. We spoke with a district manager on the phone who assured us he would help and then washed his hands of it, and verbablly abused us on the phone.

I have filed a complaint with the better business bureau, and would like our contract cancelled since Closet World has breached our agreement, and I want a full refund of my money, $1517.00. I have also filed a dispute with my credit card company regarding this, since we have been trying to resolve this for weeks now.
