I want to let the world know what kind of person my roommate/mother-in-law is. She is no good. Here's my story to back up my claims. It all started as a convienence for both her and I. My wife moved down to Tennessee for a job offer. But I could not join right away due to obligations I must meet for school. So before my wife left, Nancy asked if I would not mind helping her with the rent, it was the cheapest and most convienent option at the time. So naturally I accepted. Big Mistake # 1! I come to find out, she has been bashing me behind my back because I am a "bad" roommate. I don't claim to be the perfect roommate, but neither is she.
Come April, we relocated to another apartment complex in Tempe.in order keep my car from being towed while living there, I had to sign a lease with her. Big Mistake # 2! For most of the time things were OK, no problems. I always gave her $200/mth for my part. She accepted the terms and thought things would go fine from there. Come Jan after I gave her my usual $200, no concerns. But then there was a letter posted on the door saying the rent has not been paid and there was a $35 late fee. I talked to the office and they said it was possibly a computer error and don't be concerned. So it's a good thing I followed up on this, still showed no rent paid. So things were getting bad.
I come to find out 2 things, she went to CA with a friend on that weekend and withdrew my $200 from my account. So essentially she blew my the rent in CA. Also she is moving in with her friend, who offered to let her stay rent free for a few months. So it all hit me like a ton of bricks. She started developing this "I don't care" attitude and every time I approached her about the rent, she essentially blew me off. So things are getting bad as in, if the rent wasn't paid, the apartment was going to get legal on us and serve eviction. Up until then, I had perfect rental history.
So this was going to jeopardize my chance of getting a place to live in the future. Supposedly she "paid" the rent, but was never able to produce a receipt. Her excuse was they "lost" it or the computer "lost" it. So I had to take action. I had to take two pay day loans to pay for the rent, and most of know pay day loans will kill you in their huge fees. What kind of person is Nancy Stoll? Well definitely messed up in every shape or form. She enjoys talking behind a persons back without them knowing and put on a happy front when confronted. Also apparent, she has little regards to her daughter and grandaughter. When I get hit with these financial burdens, so do they. So imagining my daughter not having a many birthday presents this year will be on her.
Supposed her "Nana" loves her. So if this her form of love, then my daughter can do without her. Also her daughter/my wife gets hit as well. If i get a bad mark on my credit or rental history, she suffers also. So there is motherly love at it's finest. Back to the rent situation, I have a feeling she is going to stick me with the next 2 months remaining on this lease. Bottom line: This poor excuse of a mother-in-law is going to get her day. Whether be court or in front of St. Peter, she will receive her just desserts. To all the people who are looking for a roommate or to any apartment complexes looking to rent. Be aware of Nancy Stoll, she will do every opportunity to screw you out of rent or ruin your reputation.
