Advantage America Benefits
Ripoff

I received a call from a Michael Garcia badge #49410 who said he was with the Federal Government and my name had been chosen to receive a grant in the amount of $12,500.00 by the end of this year. I normally do not listen to these type of calls and hang up, but I belong to the Federal Grant web site and have for over a year so I listened. I asked him all kinds of questions to verify the validity of his call and even went on the web site while he was on the phone with me, but I wished that I had gone to google and typed in Advantage America Benefits because then I would have known that it was a scam. I was asked twice what time I would be home until the next day because DHL was to deliver my package, so I told him a time. When that time came and went and no delivery I emailed my bank the next day (it was a Sunday) and told them of the scam.

My bank told me that I had to cancel that checking account since it had been compromised. I did not do it right away because it was difficult to get away from work, abd four days later the charge came through. I called the bank right away and will have to go through the hassel of cancelling the account, and notify all the automatic debits and credits to my account as well.

I was angry so I called the 800# that Mr. Garcia gave me only to talk to another person who could not speak english very well. He told me that the money was non refundable, and I argued with him that I had not received anything and that they told me that I would not be charged until I got my packet. I was also told that the money ($12,500) would be deposited into my account but it would be before my account would be charged. Well, like an idiot (giving out my account # which I never do!) I received nothing! I asked this person who I called how he lives with himself scamming hard working Americans out of their money, and he tried to tell me that it was not a scam. Then he gives me another number to call (The Federal Grant support number 1-800-688-9889) and talk to them. Like I'm going to believe anything else these scam people tell me!!! My bank gave me the number to the attourney general's office here in Kansas and I think thatn anyone from Kansas who gets scammed by these people should call. I hope that something can be done about this. I know that identity theft is a crime now, why can't this be?
