Be on the look out. Prosperica is stillon the loose. These People will be professional until they either get your money and info or until you start asking questions.
They called me at 8am saturday morning. At first it sounded legit. The lady "vanessa" was very professional and it sounded like a good deal. THey promised a Master card with a zero intrest rate for 1 year and then 4% each following year. Since i am trying to rebuild credit it sounded good. So i proceeded to finish verifying info. She tells me there will be a $259 charge start fee that will be deducted from my account automatically but i had to pick a date between then ans the 27. Like a dummy i agree since i know credit cards do have annual fees. Then she transfers me to "mark" the "verification specialist" who has me on a three way with an automated system recording all this info as he is verifying. I thought it was weird but I continued. Then he says you can never cancel -RED FLAG - when i questioned it he got irritated and started pushing me on faster. I got more concerned. He has already finished verifying my info then he says its gonna take 40 days to get the card after they take the money. I question again and he hangs up. I called back the number that came up on caller ID and it was a disconnected number, mind you i did this less than 5 minutes after he hung up. I figured i would do that first thinking that even though they "say" they are only open monday to friday i thought maybe this would be some back line. So next i called the customer service number "they" provided now so you know she gave me a different number than he did. When i called that number it rang once and then hung up. I immediatly got on the phone with my bank and stopped my bank card and froze my accounts until i could get down there to get them changed. I also have to go to Social security now and all kinds of other places. Thank goodness i caught it early. I filed a police report and I called this company back and played along with there little game and gave them the "ref # and pin" they gave and told them i had a ref number for them. I had to leave this as a message. I hope that someone gets it. The ref number was the police report #. I know they really dont care but i'm hoping that by contacting everyone i know about this it will stop at least one person from getting screwed. I spoke to a rep at the bank and gave them a website they could go to to check out this company and let them know about these people. Please read others stories about this company you will find that they use different techniques and scams to ring you in. Here are some helpful numbers:
