On June 21 a very nice young man came to my door selling magazines. After several times telling this young man that I was not interested I went ahead and ordered a subscription to a magazine. That night while I was in bed I decided that it really wasn't what I had wanted to do in the first place so I got the receipt out of my purse and filled out the cancellation form on the back, the following day I mailed it to EAA Inc.in Denton, Texas.
The reply I received stated that I needed to send proof that my check had actually cleared the bank (which it cleared my bank on June 24). The note also stated that I needed to send the receipt number which was located on the memo section of my check in order for the refund top be processed in a timely manner. Lastly the note stated that I would receive my refund check within ten (10) business days of receipt of my verification.
I am still waiting on my refund check. It wasn't until I started searching for another way to contact this company besides through the mail that I found the Rip Off reports here online. I don't believe that I will ever get my money back from this company. I am a single mother and should never have caved in and written a check for $45.00 for a magazine subscription anyway. I guess this is a hard way for me to learn my lesson.
I only hope that someone else will read this and stick to the "NO" answer that they start out with. These young people are very convincing and don't take the answer no very easily.
