I was in the army from 1989 to 1995 During my time in the military I bought items from aafes, but never had an account.in 1999 I received a letter from the IRS saying that my taxes were given to aafes. I called aafes several times never getting a direct answer.
Finally I called and the person told to send in a dispute letter and sign it and someone would get back with me, so i did that. Never heard anything and received my tax refunds in 2000 and 2001.
In 2002 I again received a letter saying that again had given my refund to aafes. I called aafes again and was told that the matter would be looked into. I received my tax refunds in 2003 and 2004. Well on March 19 I received a letter from the IRS saying that they again had given my return to aafes. I called aafes and was told that I would have to send a letter of dispute and they would investigate.
