A younger (i'm guessing 18-20 year old) girl came to my house around 7:30 P.M. On 3/19/05 asking if any boys had come by, yet. Said she was trying to get ahead of the boys in winning a trip to cancun and a chance to go to school. Fast talker; almost had enough points to do this and if i bought a magazine, i'd help her get enough points.
I asked the name of the company and she readily gave it to me. - palmetto marketing, inc. Went upstairs to my office and went to your website instead. Almost 400 complaints from all over the country. Printed the information out and gave it to her.
She sincerely looked shocked. Don't know if that was sincere.
I told her that i was calling the police and reporting this immediately. She thanked me for the information and left.
I called the police immediately and found that they had already been informed. Also called everyone i knew to warn them and found that many friends in different parts of the area were getting hit by these younger people with the same story. Those who fell for it are getting a "stop payment" on their checks on monday. Some paid cash, unfortunately, but are going to do what they can to get it back.
