I bought a lounge suite from the factory in dandenong on dandenong road in febuary. Since then they have opened one up on frankston dandenong road. That's where the owner and manager tend to hide.
In March the suite started to slope to one side. The springs started to dig into me while sitting. After many emails to ALAN he eventually told me I had to bring it back to the factory on dandenong road. I took the single recliner in and they admitted it was faulty and changed it. ALAN was no where to be seen.
In may the exchanged recliner did the same thing. It sloped to one side and the springs were felt while sitting. I was so angry. Over 3 months I had 2 recliners do the same thing. I emailed ALAN, on MANY occasions with no responce, as he was never around when I called and no one else could help me, eventually I got a reply from someone I did not know who said I needed to bring the recliner in.in the mean time my couch decided the footrest would not go down. After checking it, the wood from underneath had petruded through the leather. It was breaking bits of would off every time we tried to open or close the foot rest. I emailed ALAN AGAIN. He replied after several emails and said I had to take that into their store on dandenong road. I could not believe what was going on. I organized a truck and took one recliner and the three seater couch back. They told the truck driver he would have to leave it there so it could be assessed. It would take 2 days. 2 weeks later and many emails and phone calls my husband went back there. The guy in the warehouse named russin said it was faulty. He called ALAN while my husband was there and told ALAN It was faulty. ALAN told russin I could go to the store on frankston dandenong road and get a refund as I was not having ANOTHER piece of furniture be replaced with another faulty one.
I went to the warehouse on frankston dandenong road walked in and there was one guy in there. I said is ALAN in, he said I am ALAN. That's where it went from bad to worse. I said my name and that I was there to pick up my refund.
He proceeded to tell me that they have not made a decision. I argued with ALAN for around 5 minutes. He then told me to leave. I informed him I was not leaving without a decision.
He made a phone call, got off the phone and said, we have made a decision. Your not getting a refund and you need to go and pick up the damaged suite as it is like that because of misuse.
I told him I was not leaving and he threatened to have me removed by the police. I was so angry.
I went to consumer affairs. Melbournians furniture people were not budging.
I am now due in court on the 27th of this month September through VCAT.
I want my money back.
I would like to hear from anyone with similar situations. These people need to be stopped.
