I was charged 14.99 plus tax every month since Deceber of 2011 (Total $328.20). I did not pay attention to the small amounts on the statement untill recently.
I called credit card company and they promised to deal with the issue with service provider. I called the telephone numbers on my credit card statement for the charge. Its area code is (300), not the 206 or other area code their business is located. I found the superpass customer service number, they told me my credit card information was given to them through their partner when I ordered my high speed internet service. Scared!!!
Digged out my old internet service order, there is a item called "superpass free trial download". It looks it come with my order automaticlly, I did not download any free trial software, but my credit card information was transferred to a company called "Real network" without a notice, then I was charged every month since then. I called Real Network, but they won't reimburse my loss.
I actually owned some shares of this company for a while. Shame on them!
We really need to be careful when we deal with each business, even they are listed in stock market and some may well known.
