I was coming out of the Home Depot store on Terry Fox Way in Mississauga when this white guy probably in his 30's driving a silver Infiniti FX 35 (lic. Plate AART...) drove slowly across and shouted from the Window if I'm interested in buying a high-end home theater system. I said, yeah I might be, and he parked his SUV and showed me the stuff in his trunk; his 2nd row seats were folded and he had around 7 to 8 boxes with 2 types of products...
He offered the following:
1- HD, 3D Projector, with 72' screen. Came with a remote, 2 3D glasses. MSRP written on the box $6500. Made in Denmark, the box had the Denmark flag printed on it.
2- A 5.1 2000 Watt home theater system, with "Tube" sub-woofer technology (wtf?) in 2 boxes. Apparently the sub was built-into the receiver.
He was asking $500 for the projector, and $1000 for both the projector and the home-theater. He also showed me some magazine where another product from the same brand was listed in an ad...
Honestly, I was interested, until he showed me the price tag on the box and I suspected something fishy since I've never seen price tags like those on vendor's packaging...
After spending around 15 minutes talking to him, I decided to let it go. His final offer that he shouted from his car, while driving away was $500 for both items.
Btw, I noticed he had 2 of both in his car. He had the same story, that the owner loaded two pieces instead of one; since there is not record he is trying to sell the extra piece as no one will ever know.
