My husband and I went to Bangkok for a 4 days vacation. On our 2nd day we hop in a tuktuk and we were brought by the driver in this shop. An old woman greeted us with smile and showed us a chanel whitegold set of earrings and pendant. She said it was a real 18K white gold at 8000 baht. Then she should us another set of big white zircon of the same set and price. I like the design and cut so i said to my husband and we closed the deal at 13,500 bhat. I paid 200 sgd in cash and use the card for the remaining balance.
Too late for me to find out about this site in the internet to realise that we were scammed. So my only way to find out if the jewelry was real is to get it appraised. It was real but the gold content was very low and didn't bother to ask the exact value anymore. So i am keeping it as a reminder of the good and bad experience we had in thailand. Lesson learned is not to be impulsive on the situation and always act on your instinct when it strikes you. I should have listened with my intuition. For the rests of the people who wants to experience Bangkok just be extra careful with the tuktuk drivers and the people who show you extra nice gestures. Something must be wrong. Don't buy right away anything, always bargain, bargain, bargain. Because that is the way it is in Bangkok!
