I was approved for a small loan of $150.00. Then I was told that I must allow them to take $200.00 from my account for security, which would then be replaced along with the loan. Since I did not have that much money, they were willing to accept $150.00. I was assured that the money would be given back to me. The man, named "Shawn Smith", instructed me to go to a store nearby to by a prepaid card for the $150.00. Then he asked me to give him the pin number. They took that $150.00 from the card, discussed billing information for the loan, and informed me that my money and the loan money would be wired to my account within one-one and a half hours. The money never came. I went through a series of phone calls to then be informed that a "red flag" came up on my name, so therefore their company's money and my money were both being held. I was told that I would need to pay an $450.00 in order to remove the red flag, and that money would be paid back to me along with receiving my $150.00 and the loan. I did not have $450.00, nor was I willing to pay more money to receive money. The whole thing did not make sense to me. I do not understand where any red flag could be coming from. Either way, I do not believe that I should have to pay to remove a red flag. The company is now refusing to give me my $150.00 back.
