I received a letter claiming to be from Citi Financial referencing a "Consumer Promotion Draw" on behalf of several well-known US retail company names. Also enclosed was a bank check in the amount of $2150.00 that was a supposed "advance" against a UK tax liability. Contact info for a UK "Tax Officer" was also provided. Superficially, this may look somewhat legit, but several complaints have been already been filed against this supposed "company" by folks who have tried to validate some of the details, and attempted to deposit the check enclosed in their letter.
I intend to feed the letter and check to my shredder.
