Beta Force Muscle Matrix
Consumer Report

"Beta Force Supplements" advertised two products: BetaForce and MaxThermoBurn; the website advertised these products being available for a trial period in which the consumer only had to pay shipping handling for $8.95 per product; it was written on the website: "Pay only a shipping and handling fee".
I paid $8.95 twice, once for each product with my Mastercard to receive the trial of these products.
Shortly after sending my payment, I decided to browse BetaForce's website in further detail to learn a little bit more about the products that are coming my way; it wasn't too long before I discovered that in small print text, shoved to the side of a page on their website: "You will receive a full bottle of BetaForce for only $8.95 only the cost of shipping to evaluate for 10 days. After 10 days, you will automatically be billed $79.95 for the remainder of the product. You may cancel at any time by calling 1-888-975-9628". This made my heart jump, because now for two separate products that I paid shipping handling for could potentially cost me 160$ or more.
Immediately, within the hour of my order, I called the "Beta Force Supplements" phone line, expressed my concern and asked for my order to be cancelled, the representative told me that it isn't possible to cancel my order, because it has already been processed. They said that if I wish to cancel my order, I will have to pay the full price of each product $79.95. I thought it was a bit ridiculous that I couldn't cancel an order that I had just placed, especially considering it's a trial to begin with. They told me that the only way around this was to wait for the products to arrive, then within two days, phone the same customer service number and tell them you wish to return the products. Once I phone them, they will then give me an "RMA" number that I must place on the package, but before I get that number, I have to pay a 15$ restocking fee for each product then make sure that the product is shipped back by a third party courier at an expedited shipping speed. The price for shipping those products at that particular speed on those particular couriers will almost equal the price of the products alone, so as you see, for me, it's a lose-lose situation. No matter what, I will be losing a large sum of money for products I don't want to have to begin with and for products that I haven't even paid for yet.
Knowing that I was going to lose money, I decided to call my bank and have my Mastercard blocked and re-issued so I won't be charged for something that I don't want to own. Immediately after, I called the "BetaForce" customer service line and told them that I blocked my card and to not send me the trial offer of the products, I don't want them. With an unprofessional and angry attitude, the woman pretty much told me that it's my own problem and I will have to deal with it, pay for it and they are going to send it anyways; she then slammed the phone down and hung up on me.

I don't know if they are going to ship the products, but my plan is to just have the post office or courier "return to sender".
I forgot to mention a few other things: If I don't call and cancel the trial when my shipment arrives, they will continue to charge the customer a monthly re-occurring charge for the products that you signed up for. Nowhere did I see that written on their website.

Also, the whole reason I decided give the trial a try was because there was an article that was apparently written by the "Men's Health Magazine", the magazine endorsed the product according to the article. The article also used the "Men's Health Magazine" logo. Doing some research, I found out that the "Men's Health Magazine" did not in fact write any article of the sort and does not endorse these products at all. It was all made up by BetaForce Supplements.

Do you think that there is anything they can do to try and charge me? I mean, I am returning their product by "Return to Sender" and my credit card is blocked so they can't charge me.

As you many of you can see, this business is very disloyal, unprofessional and misleading. They trap you into a corner and refuse to let you back out until they get your money. As a member of the Military, I feel very disrespected that I am being treated this way.

Thankfully, I have acted fast to protect my money and only lost the shipping handling charges, which I am thinking to dispute anyways.

Anyone have their comment on this? These people and this business need to be brought to justice. This is fraud.
