There are a number of scams similar to this one, but I want to put the details out there so that others don't fall into the trap.
I posted a high price item on Craigslist. I received an email from a non-native English writer (very poor grammar, etc) inquiring about my item in a way that made him seem serious. After a few rounds of dialogue he agreed to make the purchase and asked for my Paypal email to complete the transaction. I informed him that I wanted to use the Paypal invoice feature to make sure that both Buyer and Seller are protected - this is seemingly a good service but you must follow the rules. The Buyer became vague in his emails at this point. I sent him the invoice and he sent me an email "from Paypal", ignoring my invoice. He followed with an email saying he made the payment, and asked me to ship the item ASAP. This is obviously a scam and his payment never showed up in my Paypal account. I called him out on it. Never heard from him again.
