Mr. Coleman
Consumer Report

Using what I now know as the Grandparents' scam, a caller identifying himself as my grandson, said he was in jail in Arlington, VA and instructed me to call his court-appointed attorney, Mr. Coleman, for instructions on how to wire him money. To make a long story short over that day and the next, I sent money-grams from Wal-Mart's to "Tiffany Powers" posing as Mr. Coleman's secretary in the amount of $7,400, plus fees of $599. When Mr. Coleman's telephone No. Of 438-764-3975 failed, (I had called that number previously and it was a working number) and a check of the Arlington, VA jail failed to show a Nate Rice, my grandson, in their computer, I called Nate's cell phone only to learn he had never been in Arlington, VA. I filed a report with the Grove, OK police (my hometown), but they gave me little hope of a satisfactory solution. Lou Nell (Personal Information Removed)
