I responded to an offer for samples of Green Coffee and Liposom and paid the rather exorbitant postal charges. On receiving my monthly credit card account, I saw that the company had taken out full payment of £77 and £69 in payment for their product on top of the postage. On complaining I was told that I should have read the small print which stated that I would be charged for the product unless I phoned to cancel the transaction. I was unaware of this and suggest that it was in the 'very small print'. Eventually I was informed that I would get half my money returned. I will believe that when I see it.
I find this totally unacceptable but was powerless to do anything else about it being dealt with by a Call Centre. I see that their registered HQ is in Belize, their Call Centre in Florida and their distribution for the UK is in Herts.
I see that others have been taken in, in the same way - so I suggest that the 14 day term is not strikingly obvious.
Even if I receive no further compensation, I would like others to be made aware of the pitfalls of accepting a 'so called trial offer'.
