I bought a ELKAY STAINLESS STEEL lustertone sink from a plumbing shop. Of course it's a little over 5 years old now. I am replacing the counter top in the kitchen and find out that the instalation channel on the bottom of the sink that is used to secure the sink to the countertop is rotted away from moisture. Their sinks are advertised as stainless and should last forever. It's not advertised as stainless with non stainless channel that will rust away with moisture. I talked to a woman at the Elkay company and she basically said tuff, and it was my responsibility to check on the sink. I tried to ask nice for a replacement to tack on in it's place, but she said that it can't be done. I told her thats what I did for a living. She still said no.
