While on the internet, via phone WI-FI, paying my Reliant Energy bill I was called by phone from a person claiming to be a Microsoft rep and that my internet security had been hacked into. She had all my personal information and convinced me it could be fixed but she needed to go into my computer. At the close of the session she said the charge was $500.00 to fix both my Laptop and the home PC. I am retired and can't afford that so the price was lowered to $200.00, which I paid with Master Card. During this three hours on the phone, it was really starting to smell, she couldn't answer some of my questions. She did tell me the office was in New Jersey and she was located in Austriallia
The nest morning I could not turn my Laptop on. Took it to Best Buy. Results of 139 programs she had altered or changed 133. At this point I was told you have been Scammed
The phone number from which she had called is 520-979-3589. Another number she gave me, 855-635-4369 24 hour support. The numbers work but when I call they hang up on me.
The credit card account has been closed and I was a sucker.
Thanks for your valuable time.
Sincerely Alfred (Personal Information Removed)
