Dead Sea Kit Company (DSM*DSEABEAUTYKIT)
Consumer Report

I responded to a pop-up advert on Facebook. The offer was for a free trial of Dead Sea Minerals beauty kit. The only cost was £3.95 for postage. I supplied my debit card details to cover postage. The samples arrived within a week. After another 3 weeks, £97.95 was debited from my account using the details I had supplied for postage. I contacted my bank and was told that they could not get my money back because I had given out my account details. I checked a confirmation e mail I had been sent by the company to confirm the goods had been dispatched. They had provided login details to a website. When I logged in I read that if the beauty kit is not returned unopened within 14 days then it becomes chargeable - for £97.95. There was a tick box option for "I agree to the terms and conditions". I DID NOT TICK THE BOX! I contacted Trading Standards and they advisded that I write to the company and claim misrepresentation under common law (I live in Scotland). I sent the letter recorded delivery - no response! One month later £69.95 is debited from my account by a company called Dead Sea Looks and another beauty kit is sent to my house - I refused to accept it from the courier. Next day I received an e mail from Dead Sea Minerals to say that as I had refused to accept the product, our agreement is now cancelled. Am delighted it seems to be over. Bank managed to reclaim this money but I am still trying to get the £97.95 back.
