Buyer's Union - Call One
They took all my money and it may sound funny but I'm going to get my money back $150

Okay, this guy called my wife and talked her into signing up for their services and into giving her our checking account number. It was only supposed to cost $3.95... Then, the trial period... Cancel, and nothing is charged to your account.

So, we called back the same day, because as soon as my wife hung up the phone she came to her senses. We both called the company and they said to call after you get your info packet and you can cancel with no charges.

We get the info packet October 29th, I think. I say "I think" because we canceled November 2nd. And, we canceled no less than a day or two after we received the info. My wife was quite worried about the call so we were looking closely for the info in the mail.

Skip ahead to December 3rd or 4th. I go to balance my check book and see a $149.90 charge on my checking statement. It's from the jokers at Call One. The date the withdrew the money is 10/26/04, which is at least 3 days before we even got our info packet in the mail.

I called Call One three times to talk to people. I spoke with a manager. All were extreemly uncooperative and had no intentions of giving me my money back. At one point I asked her if she thought I was a lier because I told her that we canceled as soon as we got our information. She didn't respond and I soon discovered that everyone you talk to there just plays mute when you ask them a question they can't answer.

Here's what I did... And, it's what I'm asking everyone to do who has been in a similar situation.

1) File a complaint with the Southern CA Better Business Bureau. You can do this by calling (909) 835-6064 or by going to www.labbb.org

2) File a complaint with the Federal Trade Commission. You can do this by calling 877-382-4357 or by going to www.ftc. Gov

3) File a complaint with the CA Attorney General. You can do this by calling (916) 322-3360, (619) 645-2050, or by going to www.caag. State.ca.Us

4) File a Affidavit of Forgery with your bank. You were lied to over the phone. You said they could take out $3.95, not $150.

5) Call Call One and try to get their telemarketers to quit. Explain to them that what they're doing is immoral. Ask them, "What if someone tricked you out of $150? How would you feel?" Hey, it can't hurt to try.

6) Call your local Consumer Protection Division. The Federal Trade Commission can give you this number. You need to call them, because your state needs to know that these con artists are calling people in their jurisdiction.in KS the web page is www.ksag.org, so in Indiana it might be www.inag.org... I'm just guessing.

If enough people refuse to put up with being conned and lied to over the phone... Oh yeah, and stolen from... Then maybe the trade commission or the attorney general's office will be able to file a class action suit or something. At the least maybe some of us can get our $150 back... That's alot of money to me.

So, please let me know if you have any questions. Thanks, Joshua
