The person used gumtree.Co. Za to place an ad for the adoption of her African grey parrots called Lin and Paco. She claims to be a nurse in Cameroon and to be from South-Africa. She send pictures of the birds and wanted my name, telephone number and street address to send the birds. She came with the story that she can not look after the birds anymore because of her humanitarian work as a nurse. She then contacted me after I was chosen to be the adoptive receiver and asked for R1800.00 to be paid for the crate that the birds will have to use because she already spend her money on the flight tickets. She even send a scanned copy of her Id book. I checked her Id and found it to be false. The Id looks like a South African Id and the Id number is correct, but belongs to someone with the same name but another surname. They send you a copy of the flight permit under the name of skyline express cargo, also a fake company. Be on the lookout for these adoption offers and Google their particulars before you send personal particulars of yourself.
