I got a call from EXPEDIA on Feb 12 stating that I was being offered a vacation package to LUXURY hotels in Mexico and Orlando, Florida. Over the phone they told me to go to the Karisma resoirt chain website and view the resorts. They were great. No one mentioned the resorts in Orlando, Florida. Regardless, I purchased the package with the intention of using both the trips as a honeymoon vacation. I did not get my itinerary until the next day, which did NOT include the Orlando, Florida vacation I was promised. After contacting them several times, they sent me an updated itinerary with the Orlando resort. This resort is a 1 star at best according to all online reviews. So much for LUXURY resorts. I contacted my credit card provider immediately and informed them of the transaction as I felt it was a scam. They informed me that they will look into it.
Regardless, I wanted to go through with the package. When I was ready to book, I contacted the company to book both trips back-to-back. I was told that I could not do that. The lady on the phone advised me that the trips had to be taken 6 months apart. I was NEVER told this during my initial phone conversation. I then asked her for the reasoning, which she refused to give. After much pressing of why I could not take the trips back-to-back, she advised me that it was due to the timeshares. Again, I was NEVER told about any timeshares either. She advised me that all of their customers are informed of the terms and conditions... Which I WAS NOT. I asked her for a transcript of our initial conversation, she told me that it was not legal to send it as it has my personal information and I could be pretending to be someone else. She told me that I would have to get my credit card provider or a lawyer to request it. My bank contacted them asking for the transcript, to which they responded that it would have to be requested in writing and not over the phone. After spending over an hour on the phone, I was transferred to someone else at the bank who had a 3-way conversation with someone from Gold Ball Group. All of a sudden the tone changes and I, myself, have to write them a letter requesting the transcript. Still no resolution.
