I was called about subscribing to three magazines at a cost of $35.00 a month for twelve months. I agreed. The call was recorded, which they say will stand up in court. When I received the list of magazines available, there were none that I wanted. I wrote CANCELLED across the letter and mailed it back. Since then I have had numerous calls threatening to take the matter to a collection agency and warning me that my credit rating will be affected if I don't pay up. They say I can't cancel. (I called my credit card company, explained the matter to them, and they sent me a new card, voiding the one whose number the company has.) I have repeatedly told them that I want nothing further to do with their company and that they won't get one cent from me. I will not answer the phone when they call from now on.
