On January 11th I purchased a 2001 Audi A6 84K miles for $8,000 from the abovementioned company with the understanding that the engine and transmission were under warranty for 60 days. Also any safety issues would be handled. During my test drive I noticed the brake light was on which I was told would be fixed. I inquired about having it looked at by a mechanic and was told that he could come there to look. I did not have a personal mechanic, therefore, after paying and taking the car I started to write down things that were occurring with the car. The brakes squealed, the mechanism to adjust the side view mirrors was broken. I took it to a mechanic on Feb. 2 (when I was able to pay) who advised that the outer tie rods were damaged/faulty and could be dangerous while driving and that no spray would stop the squealing because they are not the brakes for the car. The person who sold me the car said that they would obtain a spray to stop the squealing and order the piece for the side mirrors but would not change the brakes again. When I told him about the outer tie rods he said they were not under warranty by the NY lemon law. My complaint is that they ordered the mirror mechanism, fixed the brakes (which squeals) that was not under warranty and not as much of a safety factor as the tie rods. Please help me understand why I'm not entitled to have the tie rods fixed and brakes changed due to their negligence by them due to the hazardous factors.
