REPORTING A SCAMMER: First i tried to send this complaint below to the website of catsadoptions.com through the only link of "FEEDBACK" but at the end, you have to type in the usual numbers and letters, but it strangely kept coming up with an error?
THIS IS WHAT I WROTE:
Hi, im from Australia, Melbourne, and i recently answered an add which is still on the "catsadoptions.com" site offering free adoption for Russian Blue Kittens, this add is worded the same for several states and i picked the one in the state of Victoria which is located in the outer east of Melbourne up in the Yarra Valley which isnt far from where i live. After the first email where i expressed my interest, this person calling themselves "Elodie Roth" wrote back wanting my Email address inwhich i gave to her.
Below is what she wrote, but it is the last paragraph which made me realise what her intensions where really about.

Thanks for the interest in my kittens. They are still available and ready to
go. They are outstanding pure breed registered Russian Blue Kittens with all shots, vaccines and vet records updated. We are giving them up for adoption because of the nature of my job this days.in placing my babies out for adoption, we are looking for reasonable, knowledgeable and cautious person who can offer them tenderness, nursery with lots of love, kisses and hugs. These adorable, cute and lovely kittens are 13weeks old and any of them would be the perfect match for your home. Any of them will be the best playmate and companion your home ever dreamed of. With their great personalities and good temperament with kids and other pets, they would be the one to steal your heart. They are coming alongside their vet records and all registration papers attached to their packages with lots of play toys. You have nothing to worry about Feeding because I will also enclose their hand book and feeding menu to their packages. Promise me that you would shower the kitten of your choice with lots of TLC. Also, I would never like that my babies should end up in a shelter or rescue, feel free to mail me back If you are willing to get my kitten (s). If you have any questions, ask and i will answer you truthfully and faithfully. I would like to ask you some
few questions before we proceed:
1... Are you familiar with pets/ever had one before?
2... Can you send me updates & pics of the kitten if I let you have any?
3... How soon do you want the kitten (s)?
4... Which of the kittens do you want?
5.. Where precisely are you located?
I am just being concerned about the type of home that our cubs will be going to, that's the reason for our curiosity. We love them so much and we want to make sure they go to families that will show them the love they deserve. So if you can stand the chance of taking any home, you will only need to pay for their required adoption fees & you can have it home as soon as you desire.
The kittens are up to date with the following

*health records.
*vaccines & wormings utd.
*contracts/health guarantee.
*info on cats care.
*unlimited phone support.
*super temperament.
THIS BELOW IS THE SCAM:
We shall send them to you through a secured delivery agency as i did with the others and the shipping fees will cost you $150 for one, $280 for two and $460 for the four of them and this will include a direct home delivery at your given address..

So much for being free?
I did write back knowing what i was about to suggest wouldnt be what they wanted to hear. I simply said -

In answer to your questions - We already have a - 7 year old Russian Blue Male & a - 4 year old Burmese Female, We would be happy to send photo's at your request anytime you like. As explained in a previous email earlier today, we both have to visit my mum either tonight or early tomorrow (Sunday) morning. My mum is currently in hospital recovering from an operation. I cant guarantee what she will say? But what i can tell you is that all through my life i have bought home stray pets, and 9 times out of 10, I've been able to sway her predictable initial reluctant, to eventually get my own way. We have to ask her simply because it is her house that we live in. My wife initially thought about getting another Male, my only problem with that is that our Thomas likes to mark out his territory outside in the enclosure and has managed to kill several plants and grass alike. So it is my belief that a Female would be better for two reasons, first i don't believe she will do any, or as much territory marking, plus she would be a good partner for our Burmese female, mainly because Thomas likes wrestling and playing with her, but he likes being by himself at sleep time, the Burmese looks for warmth and companionship, and unfortunately she sleeps in our bed for this reason. We are hoping that they will bond and sleep together, and leave us alone... Lol We are located in the Eastern suburbs of - xxxxx.

Only thing we would request to do, is if we get the ok for the kitten, we would like to come and pick the kitten up in person only! During Sunday afternoon? Im not to keen on sending money, especially when the Upper Yarra isn't that far to travel as im sure you would agree, hope you understand?

I havent heard anything back from her since, I wonder why? Im sure if i had of agreed with what she wanted, her obvious next step would be for me to send the money Via: Western Union or similiar. Anyway! It's now up to you guys to clean up your site, i guess if the adds sound to good to be true, especially when it involves breed animals being offered free to good homes is a good indication that these are usually Scammers praying on those who aint aware how they operate.
