Samsung television power switch

We bought a large Samsung tv and attempted to return to Wal-mart, however problems started soon after 30day return policy. We spoke to their manager and have e-mailed and written Samsung directly, as Wal-mart advised. The original problem was a spiral in the middle of the screen which looked like a tornado. The tv is mounted high on the wall so this was not a result of handling. Soon after the power button began clicking when we attempted to turn it on. This got worse over time to the point it would click for 15 to 30 minutes until it showed a picture. It would not turn off either, unless unplugged. We bought a new remote and attempted to use on/off switch manually with the same results. Now it is to the point we cannot use it. There is not a repair center near us. We have Sanyo and Toshiba tvs, also and have never had a problem with them. It is especially discouraging, as the Samsung is our large family tv.
