My lost package

We, wife and i, live in beaumont, tx and i had to sent in my wife's passport houston to apply for visa. It was sent through ups tracking package and on 24th od december i got an email from the consulate's agent that passport has been sent and i can it online at ups website. Surely, next day i check and shows that it had been delivered at my door step. It was not there. I asked my apartment manage to see if they have package, and surely they dont. I called ups to see what happened. They said that it was delivered at the wrong address. So i asked them what now and their answer was " we will investigate" and thats it. It has been 2 days and still no answer. Is there any thing i can do to make them expedite the situation. I am worried because it is a passport.
