I worked for West Teleservices several times as most people do in San Antonio. The first time wasn't too bad, I always worked inbound and then dress was mostly casual most days except when big wigs showed up, they came around with soda when breaks were suspended and they had frequent pizza parties and sometimes mini fairs once a year then a change in management happened and that's when everything went downhill.
They used to have a limit to three upsells and they had to be associated with the product, they used to screen clients to make sure they were reputable, they used to care about the customer and their employees but not now. On and off as I worked there things got worse and worse, upsells no longer restricted and those damned buyers club memberships that made me feel dirty inside, tell yourself all you want that you're not cheating the customer but just wait until it happens to someone you know and care about and see how you feel then.
Besides micromanaging through the dress code, and suspending breaks and lunches, (I had to wait 6 hrs into my shift once), they not only hire anyone employee wise they take anyone client wise. I knew someone personally who sued West on labor grounds but judging from what I see here on this site there will be more suits both labor and consumer and I hope it will be soon.
