Billing Ripoff Charging for Unwanted Services

I tried to upgrade dell musicmatch on my computer, and was told on one page that it only costs $19.99- a one time fee! After they got my credit card number, they gave me a reciept for $59.98- automatically charging me for future versions of the software.

They also let me know that a further $47 would be extracted from my card in 2 weeks for something else that I didn't know would cost anything - platinum web-radio access. That item was easier to deal with, after clicking a link in the email that they sent, I was sent through a series of pages whic one needs to carefully jump through the correct choices in order to stop the impending theft of funds.

The version of software that comes with the computer for free is crippled almost to uselessness after a short period of time, and upgrading is the only way to make it "user friendly" once again. It takes hours to burn a cd with this junk, and it intentionally re-arranges the playlist to further annoy.

These types of ripoffs are becoming pervasive in web based business. It makes no business sense to use these tactics - they have completely alienated me as a customer!
