Photopoint. A courtesy notice would have been nice

The second disappearance of Photopoint.com within a year should spell doom for this venture. While I thoroughly appreciated the company's services, and thought I was given a really fair deal, I am thus viscerally upset that they pulled the plug without even a courtesy notice about it ("we took yer money... See ya!).

Had this been a major Fortune 500 company, you can bet some fossils and partisan headhunters in Congress would be investigating. But alas, this is an example of good ole American free enterprise gone wayward.

For any business, customer service is #1. If it isn't, then problems exist within the organization and its greed will eventually eat itself out from the inside. For whatever reasons, those running Photopoint.com have failed to inform the customers of termination of business. Not even a cursory good-bye. Frankly, folks, that's piss poor business, and a real poor excuse for shoddy management.

As this was a service that stored memories, for many of us irreplacable (hence their business in the first place), those who made the decision to pull the plug without due notice should pay redemption to their customers. I personally would like to see them reside in a particularly nasty place down South. No, not somewhere in the tropics, but where they would be working off their debts to humanity under the whip of those folks with sprouting horns, forked tails, and pitchforks.

In conclussion, I would hope these shoddy business practices would be included on their resumes, but alas, I highly doubt it. Honesty does not seem to be the company's main motto.
