"Vertical Skip Marketing is a name used other than the name of the real products you will be asked to promote. The actual company is Herbalife. With the "Vertical Skip Marketing" name useful information harder to find.
Short story: You will probably be asked to buy a "decision kit" for $38 (actually my price was $99) or so, then you will be asked to spend $299 (or more), for an "international business package" (IBP), then you will be asked to spend $2,000 to accumulate "Value Points" to become a "supervisor". (I was also told I would have to purchase lists of people interested in the product line.)
Don't do it!"
I was recently contacted to become a marketing rep for this company. I immediately started looking on the internet for information about Vertical Skip Marketing and initally found nothing to have me suppect that this was a scam.
After going through their "interview" process. I asked for references and then the Rep Jerry Klimas got huffy. He came up with a lame excuse, and now I was very curious why. I did some further investigation and found the above at http://www.cockeyed.com/workfromhome/vertical_skip_marketing.html
This is just another MLM, or downline. DO NOT become involved. You will be ripped off for sure. If you go the the site listed above, you will find a list of most of the sites that run this scam and some testimonials about how this works for the people selling it, but not for the people involved. Do not be fooled.
For warned is forarmed!
